Cubase Volume issues

I recently purchased an Alesis 8 Channel mixer with USB hookup and began recording onto my home PC. It came with the Cubase software and Ive been toying around to figure it out. My main issue at the moment is that my recordings are very low volume. I can have the volume controls on both the mixer/channel/and in cubase (where it maxes at 6.02) all the way up and still the final product is quiet. The sound is perfect as I play and listen through headphones and such its just the final product as I replay it.

Any suggestions?

read up on mastering, limiting, and compression (both on individual tracks, and on the final mix)....those type of effects are called "dynamics processors" these are your 'volume' type effects....getting your overall volume up to "commercial standards" is VERY hard to do because everyone's been trying to be the 'loudest' for almost 20 years now....it's gotten out of hand.
