I've kinda decided on this combo as my budget recording solution. Any words against or for these products would be appreciated.

Nov 05, 2007 03:45 pm Not much for raving reviews I guess. I have seen a good deal of problems on the site here with them as well. regarding the latency issue and it being sporadic as far as XP recognizing the driver's. Even the Mac's are having trouble with the.
The mic on the other hand seems to be the better part of the deal. Nice that it has onboard battery power for the 48v phantom power it needs. MXL makes some pretty good mic's for the budget minded and a lot of people around here seem to get good results with them.

Nov 05, 2007 08:34 pm What about the Tascam US-144? I found a bundle on Music123 for 200$. Seems like an awesome deal, but I cant find enough reviews or definitive information on it.
Trying to pick an interface/ mic setup on a 200$-250$ budget is turning out to be a complicated voyage.

Nov 05, 2007 08:55 pm Ya, for whatever reason the 144 seems to have much less problems related to it. It is still a little finicky but not like the 122. I as well have not heard a whole lot on the unit as of yet so I can't give an honest opinion on it either.
But I do agree, a mic and interface combo that will work good without any headaches is tuff to find in that price range.

Nov 06, 2007 04:01 pm Keith, that looks like a pretty good deal. Like I said, a lot of people seem to really like the MXL mic's so that is apretty good price for what you are getting.
