The phantom power.

I have two xlr inputs to Yamaha recorder.. phantom power supplied to both.. no selector. Can I use both a condensor mic (using the recorder's phantom power) and a Sure57? -it would also receive the phantom power.
Is the Sure 57 somehow not affected by it?
I have not tried it yet.

Yes you can use it, the SM57 will not be effected. I do it all the time :)

The SM57, because it is a balanced dynamic mic, is unaffected by phantom power.

Use the Universal Cereal Pizza Port.

yep that's exactly why it's called "phantom" power, the mics that need it will get it, and the mics that don't won't.

Who's you are wrong. It's called "phantom power" because it was invented by a phantom and only works right on Halloween
