I have two xlr inputs to Yamaha recorder.. phantom power supplied to both.. no selector. Can I use both a condensor mic (using the recorder's phantom power) and a Sure57? -it would also receive the phantom power.
Is the Sure 57 somehow not affected by it?
I have not tried it yet.

Oct 31, 2007 01:40 pm Yes you can use it, the SM57 will not be effected. I do it all the time :)
Oct 31, 2007 01:41 pm The SM57, because it is a balanced dynamic mic, is unaffected by phantom power.

Oct 31, 2007 03:33 pm Cool :)
But if I plug the Pizza in will it effect my phantom power.
Oct 31, 2007 03:35 pm Use the Universal Cereal Pizza Port.
Nov 01, 2007 06:56 am yep that's exactly why it's called "phantom" power, the mics that need it will get it, and the mics that don't won't.
Nov 01, 2007 10:02 am Who's you are wrong. It's called "phantom power" because it was invented by a phantom and only works right on Halloween
