Hey all, I know how many times I have seen people singing the praies of the POD< but I wanted to sak a slightly different question. Has anyopne ever tried to use it on an acoustic guitar? Here's my situation. I have a Taylor acoustic/electric and I have a POS old electric guitar, but I was wondering whether it would sound like crap if I tried to use the Taylor on a POD to get some distorted electric sounds. I can't really afford to buy a decent electric right nbow AND a POD< so I was hoping that maybe I coud make do, and that it might even sound cool. Anyone ever tried it or know for sure that it would sound like total crap? Thanks, I know I am a tight-wad, but I have been out of work for awhile and trying to not deplete my savings. Cheers all.

Tightwad, hell no, it's called "starving artist" :-) As far as your request, try it and let us now how it works...I have used the POD to make an electric sound like an acoustic (with very good results) but never the other way, I would be curious to hear if it works for ya.

Hell ya, you can play your Taylor thru the POD. I play electric acoustic thru it all the time (both clean and distortion). You just need to have alittle patience and desire to twist those knob's. And I will once again make this statement. By all means install the Emagic Sound Diver software that came with the POD and use it. You will have access to more amp model's and speaker cabinet's and you can make odd combination's of the both of them. Like try running a triple rectifier thru a 10: bandit cabinet, talk about kool. Or better yet, play the thing thru a Soldano with the gain at maximum thru a open back 2 12" cabinnet with the off access mike emulation. Yike's I think I'm gettin all goose bumpy thinkin about it. Any way you get my point. Don't be afraid to just friggin do it. If it sound's like crap then don't ust that track. Or maybe mix it in with a good sounding track and see what it sounds like then. Just experiment and go for it.

Thanks Noise, I just might come off the money and buy that. I saw a good deal on one, I think. Line 6 POD is the one to get right? I think the one I saw had the 2.0 upgrade?!? I know NOTHING about POD, except the basic concept. I just feel like some of my tracks could use some nice crunch to them and so it'd be cool to be able to use my Taylor to play that. Darn, every time I talk to you guys I get a new idea of something to buy. Man, I think home recording is worse then a crack addiction! lol Maybe cheaper too!!! Thanks for the advice, I'll let you know if I get it.

It is an addiction. I am a gear whore as dB would say. Just don't let it get the best of you. I have gone month's without buying a thing then all of a sudden bang, I will go out and binge. The last 2 week's have cost me about $2000.00, but they were thing's I truly did need, well maybe not the MK-319, I just couldn't resist the bargain. But I have needed a new keyboard controller for a while and the new midi interface solved a ton of problem's. So in the end it is justified. Beside's how often can a guy say he bought a brand new $2200.00 keyboard for $499.00 in the box with warrenty.
