Hi! I'm looking for some help with an issue i've been having for a while now.
My setup:
Dell Latitude d800, 1gb ram
Presonus Firebox
Roland A-37 controller keyboard
I've got a 4pin to 6pin plugged in from my laptop to the firebox, a 1/4" cable going from my main out on the firebox to a guitar amp and then my midi controller hooked up to the firebox as well.
Here's what I'm usually looking at:
Whenever I play my keyboard, pretty frequently the sound glitches/distorts for a moment and then goes back to normal. Sometimes it'll even make a note continue to hang until I hit it again. I actually recorded an mp3 of it distorting so I could post it on here as reference, but I just listened to it, and the distortion didn't record... it sounded fine in the mp3, while when i was actually recording earlier the distortion came in several times.
I've tried a million different buffer settings and the sort, but nothing has seemed to have an effect on the glitching.
I've noticed that when I change the output to my regular laptop speakers, it sounds fine, so it seems that it's a firebox-specific output problem.
Could this be something I'm doing wrong on my end or does it sound like something's wrong with my hardware?
Thanks for any words of wisdom, I appreciate it.
(I just realized I mistakenly called my firebox a firewire 410, doh!)
