Anyone recomend anything better in the price range of a iO14? They have a rebate now which takes it down to the mid $200's
I like the fact that I can do Midi and Analog sources on one machine. I didn't like the M-audio PCI because it's internal and alot messier.
Any recomendations..?

I use USB devices for recording. For the most part they are very stable and have good drivers.
On the other hand my bigger audio interfaces are all PCI based units. That is for one reason only, they are extremely stable and dependable. No crashes during a session, no drivers crapping out at odd times. And no trouble installing drivers and having the card recognized in all my software.
Just some food for thought.
Aug 23, 2007 06:51 am yeah, it really comes down to how many tracks do you wanna record at once, usb basically maxes out at 4, firewire is 8, i'm talin' preamps here...so yeah how many tracks do you wanna be able to record at once?
