Well, my monitors broke so now i have to wait a couple of months to buy myself new ones. So i took out my soundcard to use the regular stock soundcard but now i dont no how to record my music and make it sound the same. Is there anyway to plug my mixer into the stock card and my mic into my mixer???? Right now i just have some 22 doller computer speakers so im going to have to work with that. Any ideas on how to make the recordings sound better???? or how to use my 200 doller soundcard without monitors?? P.S. the plugs for my soundcard are RCA

If you have a stereo receiver or boom box with Aux/CD/Line inputs you can use it as your monitor system until you get something better. Bear in mind it will probably sound different than the monitors you were used to, so you'll have to adjust your ears. Possibly not the greatest alternative, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

mellow, you can take the RCA line outputs and feed them into the $22 speaker set with and adapter. It will be two male RCA jacks to a single female stereo mini plug.

That is of course I am assuming your $22 speakers use a single TRS mini jack like I described above.

If they're designed as desktop computer speakers they are powered. I still think even an average mid-priced boom box would probably sound better than $22 desktop speakers.

Yep, Herbs got the idea. Most PC speakers are connected that way with the little 1/8" mini jack.
