Hell ya, I saw that on a Discovery channel program about future cars. It was actually introduced as todays car though. That thing is awesome, I assume you checked the specs thoroughly? I want the red one myself. And yes, I would spend that kind of money to get myself out of the gas prices. In the end you would be saving a ton of money.

I got to see one up close and personal at the car show. A little bit on the small side, but it did have enough leg room for even dB to fit in it. Not a family cruiser though, but one hell of a sports car.

That does look pretty sweet...

Huj, you do of course realize the 30k is just to hold a reservation for one, right?

Indeed, if that thing was only 30K I would have ordered one long ago.

That's a good point. I guess if you can afford a 100k+ auto, then you just send it back to tesla for service.

(kinda like 'if you gotta ask, you can't afford it' ).

The thing with it is it will not need service like a regular auto would. Sure it will need to be maintained to a certain point, but not like a combustion engine. And besides, 4 motors and they are all about torque. At any RPM range this thing has the same neck snapping torque, I'm all for that indeed.

And I'm sure any qualified electric motor service center can service the motors. AS for the battery, well now that is a different story. I just spent $375.00 on a new battery for the Vibe. Granted it is specially made for use with high powered audio systems, but still it will give you an idea of how much more a batter cell will be for the Tesla Roadster.

I still want one though for sure.
