My family doesn't get me.

My wife isn't feeling well, she says she has a fever, I jokingly say, the only cure is more cowbell, and my wife and two kids look at me like I'm nuts.

::sigh::

Hahaha, yeah when I had something spicy with my family I said "woah, that's got some stank on it!". Nobody could relate. As far as I know they thought that I thought that it literally stank.

And how could any red-blooded American not get the "more cowbell" reference? Do you let your family watch the TV box? :D

Movie and TV quotes comprise approximately 50% of my conversations with my friends. When I go home, the generation gap makes that impossible to carry forward.

Could be worse... Theres always the bane of every modern soldier...'Drink Water'

Had a Drill Sergeant jokingly say something along the lines of:

"Drinking water cures every thing. Got heat exhaustion? Drink water. Got the Flu? Drink water. Broken leg? Drink water. Got Cancer? Drink water... Got AIDS? Take a Motrin...

I think it's a mashup, not the orignal, but outtakes, the original was some blue oyster cult tune wasn't it?

"Don't Fear the Reaper" was the tune they were doing in the skit.

Ha! "More Cowbell!" That still cracks me up!

I did hear from coolo shortly after I talked to you dB. He is heading out in the morning from Alex and will be here around noon or one. He said he would call when he gets near the city to give an ETA. I'll be at mom and dads till just around one. I think we will try and get the BBQ going. Tuna said he can cook something vegy up for coolo and we'll have steak or burgers or whatever Tuna can come up with. I think I'll have him wip up a huge batch of foil fried taters, onions and shrooms as well.

Well the steak and Boca burgers were great. Tuna and I whipped up a huge batch of the tater thing, and coolo, I Tuna and one of his buds scarfed the whole thing down. Nothing left but one burger.

Messed around with Sonar and P5 for a tiny bit and just visited for awhile. He'll be back for the next reunion in a couple years and we will have to try and get Jim out here as well, anyone else that is close we can drum up as well.

Damn, sorry I missed it guys, my wife is really ill, so I had to watch the kids and stuff, she has only been out of bed briefly for the last three days or say...not cool at all. After you have pneumonia, which she did a couple years ago, bronchitis and other such things are that much easier to get and harder to deal with I guess...or so we are told, and this could become pneumonia again...LAME.

Sounds like a great time...I wished I could have made it too. We had that unexpected gig at Povlitski's last night. What a marathon session that was! I left me house at 5:00 yesterday afternoon, and my head hit the pillow at 4:30 this morning. Yikes!

It was an OK gig. Pretty decent crowd. A few of the "regulars" (or what appeared to be regulars) were really drunk and obnoxious and were really messed up at 2:00 am when it was time for them to leave. That's the part of the club gigs that I don't like. I hate watching people drink to excesses and then act really stupid. Especially when you know that they were probably there the night before doing the same thing.

Anyway, sorry to miss the cookout..next time. And dB, you take care of 'er old indoors...pneumonia ain't nothing to mess around with.

Nope, Ray has had ti as well and is now very open to catching anything. A simple cold can knock him on his *** for several days now if he gets one. He is now doing vitamin C along with me as I have also had the pneumonia thing many years ago. And it does not go away, ever! Your lungs are very open to fluid build up from very simple things. Even simple hey fever in my case can knock me down a few pegs and simply tire me out completely.

Jim, glad things went well. Ya, I suppose in that neck of the woods the hangers out are the major drunkards of the area and will do it nightly if they can.

Awww man, db, jim, I missed you guys, was hoping we could meet up. Anyhow, I enjoyed kicking it with Noize and his fam. He showed me some cool stuff with P5 and some synths and stuff. Had some good grub! It was cool. It's too bad you guys couldn't make it, but maybe in a couple years (or sooner if anyone is out in SF).
