WOW! Thats some pretty amazing stuff to be captured by amateurs. What a feel-good event though.

I have the urge to make my own audio track to it...

Momma buffalo: They've got my baby! They're eating my baby!
Buffalo posse: Oh no they di'unt!
Baby buffalo: Ow! My neck!
Buffalo posse: Keep your chin up!
Baby buffalo: ow! My chin!
Crocodile: Mmmm, water buffalo drumstick...
Lions: Silly croc, buffalos are for lions.

No way, they saved the calf after it had been in the jaws of a half dozen lions AND an aligator... it's wounds will slow it down, become infected and it will become food again anyways so...

Way to go buffalo... take your time why dont ya...

um, maybe I'm just cynical, but i'm guessing that video is doctored (audio editing) forty, and I don't think that bird can do all those sounds.

coolo, that's a real bird, a famous bird and a famous attenborough episode. the UK rated that as their favorite attenborough moment.

here's proof that the lyre bird is no liar!

On the water buffalo, that is one wicked bunch of renegade water buffalo. I wonder what took them so long though as it was primarily one buffalo tossing the lions about.

And the lyrebird. Yes indeed they are a very creative bird as far as their ability to mimic any sound on the planet. They had one at the MN zoo that actually did a pretty convincing dog bark.

I don't honestly know what was more interesting. Him fiddling about with his stupid hair or the young ladies back side while she was spaying his hair.
