Jun 15, 2007 12:25 pm wierd, it dosn't say what kind of mic it is....
Jun 15, 2007 12:36 pm I asked the seller that question. He hasn't answered yet. Probably because I'm not registered with him as a "qualified bidder" so he doesn't care, I'm sure.
It's a condenser, I think. A guy in another forum thinks it's an Altec-Lansing.
I'd still rather have one of Gene Rayburn's long skinny mics from the Match Game.

Jun 15, 2007 02:37 pm Doesn't seem like it's "Priced Right" to me. I wonder if anyone has said to him to "Let's Make a Deal" - haha
Actually the company I work for has been giving away hot tubs on the Price is Right for quite a few years now. We've given away quite a few over the years.

Jun 15, 2007 03:54 pm Ya, you don't want to put your account in "Jeopardy".
Jun 15, 2007 05:07 pm Haa... dude wrote me back on the make & model question:
Hi Steve,
The info is missing from the listing because there is no specific make and model. The microphone that Mr. Barker is offering was custom-built by CBS Audio in 1992 after his Sony ECM-51 was damaged beyond repair and beyond repair parts. It was in service on The Price is Right from 1992 - 2002, and was designed to have a similar look and feel to that of the Sony.
Regards
Marc
Interesting. But I still ain't got $20,000. Maybe if I lucked out on a game of Plinko...

Jun 15, 2007 08:15 pm 'To Tell The Truth' I'm not the type 'who wants to be a millionaire' but those 'hollywood squares' probably 'Double Dare' each other on these things... I just don't have the 'Endurance' to put up with it... but alas my lack of proper funding is where the 'wheel of fortune' has landed me.
But it's 'balderdash' if you ask me...
Jun 15, 2007 08:47 pm Congratulations, Zek. As the submitter of the best post so far, I crown you Queen For A Day. The $128,000 Question is - who will prevail in the online Sale Of The Century while managing not to Break The Bank?
Excuse me while I go and enjoy a College Bowl.

But what was supposed to be the typical woman's handbag of the times, containing lipstick and tranquillisers, was said to resemble a lump of rotten leather
An educated guess leads me to surmise that the woman of that time who used lipstick and tranquillisers (sp) could possibly look like a lump of rotten leather today.
But if one drinks the Schlitz pulled from the trunk... hmmm.
OK, that was sick enough.
