I have a 100 and it doesn't work well using the effects loop in and out on your mixer or multitrack but it works ok in line.It does add quite a bit of noise depending on the effects you use.For guitar, it's best to use it in line to an amp and then mike the amp.I tried it once for vocals but didn't have much success. It seems more suitable for guitar.

Hardware or software? What are you trying to accomplish with this purchase?

Here is a Behringer multi-unit:

Or and ART (heard good things about this little unit):
service.bfast.com/bfast/c...mp;bfmtype=gear

Or the good ol' half-rack Nanoverb:

AT $150 your choices get quite a bit wider, but at $100 or less you are kinda of limited. A lot of it depends on which effects will be most important to you and what you are actually going to be using them on.

For $150 you can get the Behringer Vamp-2 or Yamaha DG stomp. (both list for 149@ Guitar center where I work) The Vamp is the better of the two for recording- loaded w/ effects and amp models, basically a cheap POD. The Yamaha is a great unit and more suited for live use, very rugged. No amp model but sounds decent. I personally don't care for the RP series, they are noisy and seem cheaply constructed.
Just my 2 cents.
