Hi, im new to this site and im drawing up plans for a home recording studio i'm building from scratch.

The studio will be focused around a 16-input mixing desk connected to Cubase SX for recording. I will probably be recording a maximum of 3 channels at any one time through the desk but what should i use to put these onto 3 seperate Cubase channels?

I have used MOTU firewire inputs before but these are too expensive and every other firewire interface only has 2 output buses, or would a soundcard with 3 inputs work? thanks

maudio has a couple 4 input cards, the delta 44, and the delta 66.

they aren't too much $$$, and have been working great for people for years.

Yep, the M-Audio Delta 44 would be the exact match for what you need. I still use one here on an older machine that is relegated to testing odd little bits of software. Here is a link that will take you to the description and the zZounds page.
