HI..
I bought an 896 well over a year ago and have had some success with recording things into Sonar, However I have a question/issue that maybe somebody knows about.

While it records fine on the computer, I am having a problem (maybe in what I expect, or maybe with the unit.) in that I get nothing out of the Mains when it is running. If I plug a bunch of Mics and stuff in, am I supposed to be able to mix an output from the front panel? No computer, no nothing else, should this unit mix the eight channels into an output mix on the main outputs? (Obvously mine doesn't..)

It needs the software control panel to tell it were to send the inputs. That includes the main outputs as well. So if it is disconnected from the PC it will indeed not give any signal to the main outs as it has no idea were to send it internally.

If I might ask, how and were are you sending the main outputs that you don't hear anything?
