DVD player won't play home recorded discs

I have a Sony DVP-NS300, about four years old, that won't recognize homemade CDs. It doesn't matter what burner I use - Nero, Audition, or any of the others I've tried. This particular player still reads 'no disc' every time I insert one that I made. All of my other players have no problem with them.

I figure it's one of those %$#@* Sony anti-piracy measures, but I'm wondering what exactly is this player looking for to recognize a 'legitimate' CD, and how do I plant the code on my discs? Am I missing something in the authoring process that only a 'commercial' burner can encode?

I should add: it will play home-recorded DVDs, but not home-recorded CDs. Weird, eh?

Herb, I know I had that same problem with the boyz wanting to play burnt CD's in their PS 2. They always played in the first generation PS 2 but not in the second gen PS 2. Tuna found it was the way he was burning. He changed the ISRC code or whatever it is and then they worked fine after that. Not sure if your player will react the same but I will check and see exactly what he was doing to make them work and let ya know.
