I have a Sony DVP-NS300, about four years old, that won't recognize homemade CDs. It doesn't matter what burner I use - Nero, Audition, or any of the others I've tried. This particular player still reads 'no disc' every time I insert one that I made. All of my other players have no problem with them.
I figure it's one of those %$#@* Sony anti-piracy measures, but I'm wondering what exactly is this player looking for to recognize a 'legitimate' CD, and how do I plant the code on my discs? Am I missing something in the authoring process that only a 'commercial' burner can encode?
I should add: it will play home-recorded DVDs, but not home-recorded CDs. Weird, eh?
