Does anyone have any experience with George L patch and instrument cables. I need to upgrade all my patch cables from the my rack system to my amp. Is George L the way to go....or is it worth the money to buy the Evidence Audio cables.

I've never used them, but the fact you can buy spools of cable and jacks is very cool, you could order that stuff and make cables the exact length you need keeping the runs as short as possible.

If done in bulk, I'd say certainly. If you're only doing 5 or so cables, at 20ft or so, then maybe not.

Course that depends on if you've got good soldering skills =).

Actually, The George L's are pretty expensive and are supposedly high in quality. The only reason I am questioning them is because there is no soldering involved with these cables. I think you just screw them together.

I need a total of about 50 feet. If I bought the cables from Evidence Audio it would probably cost me over $600 and I would have a lot of unused cables due to them being the wrong sizes.

The George L's seem to be more practical but I just dont know about their quality.

amcoloan, I have used George L cables many times and prefer to use them for the speed of getting them set up. It also allows easy change when and if you need to with the solder less connector's. Compared to some of the pre made stuff they are pretty cheap for the quality. I do suggest though getting the .225 diameter cable though as it will carry signal better.
