I tried to record a rhythm using a guitar in track 1 and put a solo on track 2, the problem is track 2 also records the rhythm part in track one? why is this happening. my soundcard is SB audigy platinum 2. thanks!

Jan 07, 2003 02:59 pm common problem. Your track one, whether internal or external, is looping back into the sound card.
What is you config exactly, are you using a mixer and running that into the Audigy? or instrument straight in? details, details, please...
Jan 08, 2003 01:27 pm ok so the set up is XP for the O.S., P4 2.4, 512 DDR MB etc.
Now My sound card is the SB audigy platinum and theres also the Internal Sound Card SoundMAX.
I just directly plug my guitar to my computer or guitar-effects-computer that's about it. I tried uninstalling both my sound card to figure out which is which and still now luck!
So whats the problem then? Please let me know if need more details, Thanks again!!!!

Jan 08, 2003 04:48 pm Assuming that your guitar part is recorded and then you want to record your voice and the second channel (track) is recording your voice and the pre-recorded guitar track, that is a problem of the recording source selected in the soundcard's control panel.
In the Audigy's Control Panel select Line in as the record source and that should solve the problem.

Jan 09, 2003 03:02 am I've got that same problem, only with my delta 44, just can't figure it out
Jan 10, 2003 06:47 pm guess what, i finally fixed my problem. I can finally record to track 2 without track 2 recording whats in track 1. I just keep on messing with the soundcard configuration and then just like that it's fixed! I'm still wondering what change i did in the config.
For awhile I thought I need to get a new soundcard with multiple ins and outs or i need to get a mixer! I'll stick with what I have and if this home recording hobby is getting me somewhere thats when I'll be serious about equipment.
By the way can anyone go to the NAMM this year or is it stricted?
