Hey everyone this is my first post.

I'm trying to set up a test recording and am having some issues. first, yes the sound does work in itunes. I'm lining in a cd player to the mixer to the uca200 device to the laptop, i have the asio driver installed along with audacity and kristal, but cant seem to get either of the programs to record and playback audio. The EQ bars on the mixer go up and down, so sound does come through, and it will even show up in audacity, but will not playback. even after exporting the file, it is silence.

Any help would be appreciated!

Troy

Can you see the audio in the track itself? Also do you have the output of the track assigned to the UCA200 as your output device. I know a lot of people have been having trouble with those little buggers and getting them assigned to play correctly.

The problem, I believe, is my output.
I am able to hook up a 1/4in cable from the xenyx 1204 out through the headphone jack to my guitar amplifier. I'm just using a dvd player to get some audio output, lined in the cd/tape input with rca cable. I have an rca cable going from the cd/tape input to a stereo capable of receiving audio from rca and the audio is not going through. I would assume this is why the audio is not recording through the usb device, because the output is not functioning. Do I need to configure something on the mixer unit or should I just use the 1/4 stereo outputs in the back? if so, what the hell is the point of the usb device if the rca cables dont work?

Push the button that says 2 track. That should send it to the main outputs as well as the headphone outputs.

But if that is the only problem then you need to try recording something through a normal input channel before you think something is wrong there.
