Feb 14, 2007 03:17 pm Feedback.....hmmm.
There's some talent there waiting to come out. It sounds like the songwriting is pretty decent, but the technique needs some work. Guitars sound pretty good. Drums need to tighten up quite a bit. As far as vocals, it's hard to tell because of all the tender, whispered emo angst going on. Open up and let it all hang out, you know? Sounds like the singer is unsure of himself, although the potential is definitely there.
Surely need a pop filter or something..
Prince Edward Island, eh? Do you guys, like, kill baby seals up there and all that? Just kidding.
What are you guys recording with?

Feb 14, 2007 11:11 pm Hey
thanks for the feedback. haha and no we don't kill any seals up here.... at least not that i'm aware of.
To record i use a laptop with Pro tools. I have two mics and a little sounboard i run them through. I'm pretty short on cash at the moment, which is why i can't get better mics... but i guess they will come in time.
Feb 15, 2007 05:24 pm Well, I've got to tell you that "just a couple of decent mics" has a way of turning into a cash drain that's almost addictive, dude. :)
But, anyhoo, for just using a couple of mics, I'd say you're doing okay. Read up on various mic placement techniques, because it all starts there, and just a quarter turn of any one mic can made a dramatic difference in the sound you get.
Keep plugging!

Its a miracle! You're cured!
Feb 16, 2007 06:03 pm And ya know what, I have more money than I have had in YEARS by selling off all the crap I don't use any more. Enough to buy about 3 or 4 of the aquariums I went and bought myself.
So the cure has it's benefits!
Feb 17, 2007 01:15 pm lol im the same, for example, if we go somewhere and its like a half price sale, and i dont even erally need it, ill get 2 instead, or atleast equall the amount i would have been spending, lol, my mom gets so pissed, "the idea is that your saving money on sale!" lol
