RM IV help in tracktion 2

I'm pretty new at using this program, so I hope I know enough to know how to ask the question. I'm using tracktion 2, and I have no idea how to get RM IV to work. Hopefully someone can tell me what I need, or what process to use. My last post in here got me enough help to get me up and running somewhat, thanks.

Have you looked at the manual and/or the online help in the application, the popup tips and stuff are often pretty good. However, it been a while since I used Tracktion myself, so I can't help specifically beyond that, sorry. From documentation it sounds like it would integrate like any virtual instrument would.

www.mackie.com/products/t...2_refguide.html is some documentation.

I took a look at the manual and I have never used software of this type, I'm brand new to digital period. So at best is was a vague overview that might have meant more if I had a clue. And the usual pop ups that can be helpful in tracktion, don't show up in RM IV. I'll dig a little deeper in the online help.

Oh, so you have gotten the RM IV open and assigned in a track you just don't know how to use the plugin itself? I thought you didn't know how to get it opened with in a track.

Then you'd need to look at the online help within the plug, cuz, yes, the popup windows only work within the app, not third party add ins.

if you are looking for more info on how to use it within Tracktion you can also look under any Tracktion manual topic that refers to "Virtual Instruments" or "VSTi" cuz all virtual instruments will work the same as far as using them within Tracktion.

I thank you, over all I'm finding the software isn't as scary as I had thought, it doesn't change the fact that I don't know what the hell I'm doing. But learning, I have an edirol keyboard do I need this as a controller?

Yep, in order to use the software synths you will either have to use a controller to play notes in live or go to the piano roll or midi note editor. Then you can simply click in the notes and durations you would like.

Thanks Noize, you helped me to get up and running a few weeks ago, I took the advice and transfered some old analog stuff to the computer and I'm getting the hang of tracktion. Its been great figuring it out and hearing some stuff I hadn't heard for years. But for drums I've only had machines or live drummers in the past so I'm in the dark figuring this out. I have an edirol PCR-80, and an old M1 I'll dig them out. I hope I can figure this out now. It looks like I'm one step closer to trying to record something. I'm mixing some of the old stuff down now. When I figure out how to post a song I'll get something in here.
