M-Audio Fast Track USB Help

Hi, I am new to this forum and pretty new to home recording. I picked up a Fast Track a few months back and have had nothing but problems with it. The program I am using to record guitar is GT Player Express...but I can't seem to play my backing drum track (playing in Fruity Loops) and record guitar at the same time.

I just want to simply play the Fruity Loops track and record the guitar (with the effects of GT Player)

Welcome to HRC.

I think sadly that GT Player Express will not allow you to use Fruity as a VST plugin which would be how it would be done usually. I think your only alternative is to set up your drum track in fruity, then export it as either mp3 or wav file. Then it can be opened in its own track in GT Player for you to play along with. Someone else here just had the same issue about a month or so ago and after looking into the app more realized it would not work as you are trying to do.

And the answer to the question I am sure will come as well is no, you cannot run Fruity on its own and the GT Player at the same time. The Fast Track will only allow one application to use it at the same time. ReWire applications are the only way to share audio interfaces and sadly M-Audios USB units will not do that.

One thing you can do however is open the GT Player in Fruity as a VST pluggin and use its effect that way.
