It seems like as soon as I get one thing working, something else becomes a problem. It's extremely frustrating but I guess thats the hassle of revamping your set up. Anyway...... Hopefully you guys can help me on this one, sorry for all the questions lately.
I just bought a mini-behringer headphone amp because I was under the impression that it would allow me to have my monitors playing in the control room and headphones playing in the live room of my studio. This wasnt the case. I am using a Delta 1010LT. My KRK 8's are hooked up into slot 1 and 2 of my soundcard. I hooked up my headphone pre amp into slot 3 and 4 of the outputs and nothing came out. No sound was being sent into these slots. When I plugged the pre amp into slot 1 and 2 however it worked. Now I have my monitors running through my headphone pre amp, and my pre amp into slots 1 and 2 in order for it to work. Now it seems when I play a key on my triton it plays through my monitors slightly delayed which really messes up my timing. Is that a latency problem and how can i fix it? Also will the monitors set up this way sacrifice sound quality? Also is there an easier way to have the headphones and montiors playing using a mixer? and what is the cheapest mixer I can get that would do the trick?

I do this with a small behringer mixer (eurorack 802 or something like that). Coming out of my soundcard, i have the the 1/2 outs go into one of the tracks in the mixer. The main outs go to my monitors and the headphone jack goes to my headphones. I'm not sure if this is the best use for a mixer, but it works for me. I don't know why your setup with the 3/4 outs doesn't work though. That would seem to be the easiest/cheapest solution.

Jan 04, 2007 10:03 pm What software are you using again? You will probably have to create busses to get them all working proper. Unless there is a routing option in the 1010lt panel that will allow you to copy the signal going out 1/2 to 3/4.
Jan 04, 2007 11:13 pm I'm using Pro Tools

Jan 05, 2007 10:19 pm Then you should be able to create seperate busses in PT and send mixes to both the monitor outputs and the headphone output channels.
Jan 06, 2007 01:17 am Any idea on how to do this?

Jan 06, 2007 01:31 am I don't do PT at all. But you should have assignable busses in your mixer panel. I would assume it would be in the mixer panel options menu someplace. If it is an LE version of PT though you may not have that option. I'll do a little checking and see if I can dig something up on it.
Jan 06, 2007 01:13 pm It's Pro Tools LE and thanks for the help, much appreciated.

Jan 06, 2007 09:08 pm I did a little digging and cant find anything that tells whether or not it will do multiple bussing or not. As well I could not locate any data on doing it or options for the mixer panel. I'll keep digging though. I know several people here are using it now and maybe one of them might chime in.
Is there any manual or help documents that might get you a little closer to finding if it can?

Jan 07, 2007 04:36 am If I've decyphered your question correctly, give this a try:
Create a Stereo AUX track in PT. Dependings on your setup, set the AUX output to the desired channel.
Example:
Your master fader output should be set to flow thru your monitors (i.e. Analog 1-2)
Set the AUX output to correspond with your headphones connection (i.e. Analog 3-4)
Also, the AUX track can be used as a hub for multiple FXs.
