i am experiencing a problem when after i stop the record and hit play track, there is a noise "tick tick tick" going along with the track. or somewhat a slowmotion or delay music.
what do i need to do to clear this out?

i am using Line6 tone port UX1. i dont need a separate audio card anymore to put in my PC right?; since the tone port it self is an interface built in audio card. what am i doing wrong?

im using cakewalk btw. not ableton live.

I believe your fix lies somewhere in the buffer settings of the ux1 . Try upping the buffer, and restarting your computer, this may do it for y'a . If it doesn't I'm sure that someone 'round here will have other suggestions to offer .

Good place to look, what Hue said.

I've had a PC put little hiccups in the sound, every X amount of time, due to the hard drive not set up quite right. I didn't use the ata100 cable, instead using the normal ide cable.

switched that out to the correct 80 conductor cable, and all was well.

It's probably the buffer settings though.

Possibly, is there other devices on the USB bus? I'd pull all other stuff out, if you can, to test. I run my USB mouse with my us122, but I don't move it around hardly at all when tracking. Maybe try another usb port if possible.

And yes, you don't need any other sound card, the ux1 should do all you need. I disable my onboard sound, so windows doesn't spend any time querying the device, and possibly slowing down or locking something up.

I'm probably paranoid, but I feel better =).

It sounds like you have the metronome playing along with the playback as well as record. Try turning it off for playback and you should be good to go.

Naw, that'd be signified by a "click click click clock", not a "tick tick tick" . heh

I thought that at first too, but then he mentione the slowing down thing .
