we have serious problems without a back that can smash for yards like jerome did. parker can't be used in that fashion: it's conservative play that leads to wasted downs.
ben is of course completely variable in his play: he was offensive player of the week last week. but one thing i've noticed is that he's stopped scrambling for downs on his own when the opportunity presents itself. he too has become conservative.
this team has big problems now. the team will come together again as the season wears on, but this division is too tough for them to go anywhere now.
