Still getting my butt kicked trying to record my drums.

So, I have my TD6 plugged into the "line in" jack on my tone port. When just the gear box is opened, it sounds great. As soon as i try to start recording them is when it all falls apart. I have tried both the ableton lite and the krystal softwares. On both programs it is recording the drums so quietly I cant even hear it. I have everything turned up that can be turned up and still nothing. Also, when i do the playback on the krystal software it plays like triple speed. It is crazy, but I cant figure out how to make it play normal speed. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks alot.

Ok, I figured out my drum problem. Any ideas why my tracks in Krystal are playing back so darn fast? Thanks.

check the bit rate for recording and playing back, or the bit/sample rate that you are trying to record at vs. any possible limitations in Kristal.

What bit rate do i need. I am not even positive I know what a bit rate is although I think I may have an idea.

You should be set at someting like 16 bit and 44.100khz sample rate. you will find these settings in the options audio section of either recording app.

And definately check the tonports control panel and make sure it is set to the same bit and sample rate. That could indeed mess things up.

I just ran my UX-2 through Ableton last night to try and fix another problem someone else was having. And I didn't get any wierd things happening at all.

One thing you should look for in the options of the rcording app either Krystal or Ableton is that the recording and playback timing master is set to ASIO Toneport UX-2. If it isnt the audio that is recorded will just freewheel and give those results as well.
