Always a good question and a good way to get to know people.

My latest addiction is mixed martial arts training, been at it a couple years now. I also enjoy web programming and stuff, fortunately, I make my living at it too. Used to hunt a lot as a kid, loved it, haven't in recent years.

Come to think of it, music is currently the least of my hobbies, it's very much taken a back seat in my life in the last couple years.

I love the avatar, by the way :-)

I sorta moved from audio to video production to photography...

I like photography :)
modelmayhem.com/pics.php?id=208694
...just wait until I do some studio pics :)

I'm trying to organize my life so I'm trying to schedule some time for all of my interests... like electronics, music, movie making, hiking, mountain biking, etc.

I like things that require dorky organizational skills... right now after a lifetime of ignoring my personal finances I'm having a blast putting together a budget and accounting for everything...it's sad really... but I like be able to say exactly how much of what I have where... instead of keeping it all in my head...

I like to interpret dreams too...

I also am trying to collect and read all of the Star Wars books...

I also am trying to teach myself latin and anglo-saxon when I bother with it...

I've been interested in recording since I was about 12. As a kid, my alternate idea was to become a stuntman. Having no aptitude for danger, I swerved to drumming for 25 years before I decided to settle down. Now, I'm very fortunate to be able to use my recording talents at work, and for fun in my spare time. I also collect antique radios, and enjoy photography. I do some bizarre photoshop.

Life is OK.

I have a few hobbies though music takes the fore front.

I'm a programmer by trade but I still like to make small Open source projects for fun. But I have very little time for this.

I'm also very much still into graphic arts.which include 3d,sketches, paints and photography. I have sort of merged this hobby with the music. I made a small local side business where I design label/cd/cover art for some local bands.

Well I dont know if I can honestly call it a hobby. But how about camping with anywhere from 35 to 50 kids at a crack. I'm a boyscout leader and have been for about 7 years now, before that it was cubscouts. I just stepped down as the ScoutMaster to go back to being a regular assistant scout master.

And yep, we camp in the snow as well, coldweather camping rocks. We are one of the few troops to have won what is called the Zero Hero award for camping in sub zero weather.

Other then that my hobbies would be programming synths and sound design. Sample creation and the like as well. The actuall writing has really taken a backseat, unless its a paying job which there have been enough of lately. But I havent finished any of my personal pieces in a good long time.

Rugby, recording and writing music pretty much sums me up. Wouldn't call them hobbies though. More like 'loves' :-).

Apart from gigging at weekends,I go and watch bands at other local gigs, its good for meeting up with people that are into music and picking up more gigs by just being there.Ok there is beer just to be sociable.I have an interest in astronomy and sometimes (usually in winter)set off to places where there is less light pollution with a telescope. The best views of space are on the JPL site, its warmer.Oh and curries, making, eating, takeaways.

I'm a computer programmer by trade as well. Besides the music and recording, I water paint and draw, I love playing with POV-Ray, a 3D rendering program that's FREE! Check it out www.povray.org/ and their House of Fame hof.povray.org/

I also grow my own herbs (not THAT kind!), oregano, sage, parsley, chives, dill, etc. Nothing like fresh herbs, picked the moment you cook.

I've always been pretty much a 1 hobby at a time person, there just isn't enough time to devote to more than 1 at a time.

I would like to mention that in my current addiction, mixed martial arts, I got "pickled" last night, "pickling" is a horrific experience where you are in the center of the mat and the instructor sends out people one at a time every couple of minutes to pound on you, so you get more and more tired while you opponents are fresh all the time...in this case it was two guys trading off turns at me.

This went on for about 20 minutes, the last 5 minutes or so it was two people...

At the end my instructor "pinned" me (me in "horse stance" while he punches and kicks me in the stomach a few times) and awarded me my green belt in Kenpo, however so it was worth it :-) I took a few good shots and gave a few good shots, it was a learning experience.

The multiple opponent end was interesting, I was so tired but still managed to get a couple shots in until I could only ball up and hope for the end soon :-)

I agree OldDog, its hard to find time (or money) to focus on much more than one hobby at a time.

Mine are kind of seasonal. In the warm seasons I love a good cigar, golf, lawn and garden stuff, BBQ. In the cooler months I tend to focus on music, video games, football, and indoor projects of one sort or another.

Beer is always in season. Scotch and Irish whiskies as well.

It's fairly easy to concentrate on multiple hobbies when you're as scatterbrained as I am... err... I mean eclectic...

OK, my beer hobby then would be imbibing in exotic beers from around the globe. I will even go as far as of late to beg a buddy who works at a liquor store to convince his boss to order the stuff.

And my whiskey of choice would be my good friend James Beam. But a good Brandy is always welcome as well.

Kayaking .
Fishing .
Indulging .

Sometimes all three at the same time . : ) Now that the 'cold' is here, there'll be no watersports for this one... just have to stick to indulging and recording, which is good... I'm so behind in these projects .

Dung Beetle: I was eyein' that Schmirnoff Blue last night... wondering why it had a blue label . Ended up just getting the usual though... Cherry Bombs doth flow !

There's a bar like that in Dearborn, over 125 beers, i think (last I knew, anyway). What's even nicer, the girls working there wore fishnet.

What a lovely place, it was.

Oh yeah, hobbies, let's see . . .

I've been golfing a little, when I can.
Building amps was fun, but i'm kinda out of that now, with building a studio.
I'd say, between my music projects, and family issues, i don't have much time for other stuff.

dB-Wan just slipped that in there.....
"...and awarded me my Green Belt in Kenpo...."
Congrats dB-Wan. You killer, you....
Well done.

My other hobbies are:
Taking out the trash
Cleaning the floors
Vacuuming
Washing dishes
Cleaning the kitchen

apparently.

If it were up to me...

Cooking
Golf
Gardening
Laying on my couch with a good beer.

Also got into EVP recording lately.

Still trying to master the guitar (I'm a bass player, really). Searching for the ever elusive tone.

Wow, there are several golf enthusiasts here. And beer seems to be a common thread as well. Maybe we need a first-annual HRC golf tourament/beer tasting weekend someday :D

I would come in last in golf, maybe 3rd in beer hahaha.

i like driving ranges, putting, and disc golf, but i don't really care for 'the game'.

i'm really into people, i love psychology and just human behavior in general...i'm a social butterfly and have too many friends on this planet to count....drinkin' has moved from hobby to habbit to full blown addiction and i'm currently limiting myself to drinkin' on the weekends and days that end in y....i have a home bar called Embers which is very much my 'Cheers'...we have a blast up there, sundays (slowest day of the week, but the most fun) we bring in dvd's and throw them up on the big screen, and wear PJ's (and sometimes less)...

number two (excluding music ofcourse) would hafta be food...i'm a food eater! i'll eat damn near anything...i think i've blown my tastebuds because i'm a major spice junkie (props to dungbeatle with the fresh herbs!)...i love hot spices, the hotter the better...gotta say Thai takes the cake for 'best hotness'. i think my liver has lost the ability to break down complex sugars because for some reason, i really can't eat much sweet stuff.

i love ping-pong. got started at an early age and it never got old to me (and gimme the right opponent and i can rock it Forrest Gump style)
second would hafta be Texas Holdem, it's a total game of phsyhology so it's right up my alley. i'm down with darts (cricket to be spicific), billards, bowling, and just about any other "sport" where i can drink and smoke (which is why golf tempts me sometimes).

i love nice weather! i quit a job one time because i was tired of workin' on all these beautiful days we were havin'...i hate the cold, and snow....pretty to look at, but it slows me down too much. i was raised in michigan, went to highschool in tennessee, music school in atlanta, then lived in florida for a few years....(brb, i gotta work for a second)

I like disc golf as well. Its a sport that has a surprisingly small amount of public awareness. But the courses are everywhere. Odds are that there is a disc golf course near you and you've never known about it. Fun, free sport for all ages.

basketball! I gave up drinking about 3.5 months ago, so that's off the list. Pretty much all i do these days is play basketball, music, work, and stupid chores around the house. And watch tv a bit (Cal football and 49ers...it will be more when Warriors season comes around).

OH I wish I still had the knee's for hockey. Played twice last year with a crew from work. Got 3 penatly's for being to agressive!! I didn't knock em down. just shoved em off the puck was all!!!

And ya frisbee golf when time permits. didn't get to play at all this summer though.

DungBeatle, I was my highschool champ for 2 years running. It was a co-rec thing though so no big honors, just bragging rights. When we do the addition ping-pong will definately be on the first things to do list.

Matter of fact, we do a winter retreat with the scouts were the adults do all the cooking and such and we stay in a huge dorm with foosball and the like. But they have two nice ping-pong tables in the gym area. I need to bring my own padles this year as theirs are crap.

coolo, no beer no more???
