Welcome to HRC, sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Several of us have been missing for the weekend.

PreSonus does have one tube unit that will act as an interface. You dont say which unit you have. A model number will help greatly.

IF you dont have the Pre/audio interface unit then yes, you will need an audio interface. Unless you have a decent onboard soundcard in the G$, then you might be OK to record into that from the Tube PRe.

Fill in the details and we'll go from there.

OK, indeed it is just a pre-amp. You will need to then hook it up as I suggested, to the line in of the G4 audio input. Do not use the mic input as that will not work very well.

As long as you have the correct cable you will be just fine to record that way. Be aware though that you may experiance some latency/delay when overdubbing tracks. Meaning when you record a new track while listening there will be a delay in what you hear in the moniter.

This cable will allow you to connect to the stereo line input of your G4. You will then be able to use either the left or right input of your recording software. You will simply choose either one and plug that 1/4" male into the output of the TubePre and then the smaller 3.5mm jack into the line input of the G4.
