Ok, so i just got an Korg electribe sampler of ebay and its in excellent condition and fully functional. As it's been used briefly before me, it's factory samples are no longer in the machine and the sampler is blank. I have the back up factory files on cd and the sampler uses Smart Media cards to transfer data. The card is fine and i can load files onto it from my computer, but when i go to load the files onto the sampler i get an error message that translates into "the smart media card does not contain any files that the sampler can recognise"
Does anyone with this electribe sampler know whats up?
please help! im stumped =[

Aug 31, 2006 07:53 pm Well it can load either wave or aiff files. I would check to make sure the files on the Cd are not corrupt, and that they are actually wave or aiff files.
Sep 06, 2006 04:58 pm ive actually now exchanged the sampler i had for a new one from sound control :p, but now the card load function on that gives me the same error message, so it can't possible be the sampler. I have tried many different samples from my computer and changed the sample rates and frequencies to suit the sampler, but that didn't work either. I know my files aren't corrupt and my computer can read the smart media card and load samples to it, but i think the problem is with this particular card and the sampler just doesnt like it for some reason. I don't actually have another smart media card at the moment so i can't be sure, but im trying to find somewhere that sells them in store rather than of the net....so if the problem remains i can get my money back!

Sep 07, 2006 07:57 pm Yep, I was gonna suggest trying another card if this same issue persisted.
Good luck finding one in a store near you. I am sure there has got to be one fairly close by.

Sep 12, 2006 04:58 am To have the ES-1 recognize the samples they must:
o be either 8 or 16 bit
o have the sampling rate of 32000 Hz (use the resample command in your sound editor to do resampling without changing the pitch)
o be either in .wav or in .aif format (if two samples have the same name but different format, .wav will take priority over .aif)
o be copied to the root directory of the SmartMedia card (e.g. f:\)
o must be named sequentially as follows: 00.wav (or .aif), 01.wav, 02,wav, ..., 99.wav.
* Note that you cannot have more than 100 sample files at the root directory because three digit file names are not recognized by the Es-1.
* Note that 8 bit files will be internally converted to 16 bit so you cannot save space by reducing the dynamiccs. However, the ES-1 does not do sample rate conversions automatically.
