I heard from some people that the tripod stand falls over alot. But i like the fact that u can move the boom aruond in a certain position. But if they do fall over alot im betta off with a base mic stand.

I dont use anything except Tripod stands. Mine dont fall over at all. You simply need to make sure you dont over extend the boom if it has one. If the mic is heavier then the counter weight it will fall over then yes. Common sense will tell you when you have extended it too far.

With the tripod you can position the stand rather than over extending the boom. The heavy base type can sometimes pick up vibrations and noise through the floor/stage.

tripod, all the way, the weighted ones are nice for gradeschool plays and what not, i've never had a problem with it fallin' over, usually if you have one leg gooin' out WITH the boom arm, it'll hold up, you could always tape somethin' heavy to the other end if ya need to too.

Bah bah buh bah

I prefer tripods, but you can't do that cool "push the mic stand over and bring it back up with your foot thing" with them. Bummer.

Jeez!

And yes you can kick the tripod over and pull it back up. You just have to line it up with one leg pointing at you so the other 2 balance the stand when you kick it.

Jeez!

The last time I did that I busted myself in the face really hard with the mic.

Round weighted mic stands are only good for singers who use them as a stage prop.

Or unless you're Kevin DuBrow. Then you use a tripod stand and corkscrew it with grip tape.
