This just struck me as a little weird.
Banjo-Center has a radio advert running for their "42nd Anniversary Sale" (er...okay...Whew! 42 years, what a landmark!)...
"Buy one Pearl drum kit over $399, and get a second kit free!"
I mean, it's a great deal (if you're a drummer), but it's not like you're going to have a spare drum kit stage left....
A second guitar maybe...a spare bass, sure....maybe even a backup amp or two...but not a drum kit.

Jul 27, 2006 03:37 pm Whats the second drum kit? could it be some 75$ percussion plus kit? ha.
If so you could maybe use it for firewood...

Jul 27, 2006 05:17 pm I talked with the guys at the local music go round I think last year... drum kits are about impossible to move... all used kits are $500 no matter where you look... they have no electronics to break so they practically never go bad.
My guess is that if Pearl is trying to get higher market penetration then they (the company) must be for sale... Yamaha is the only compay I can think of that would benifit... and manage the acquisition... but they already make drums... Korg maybe...
<ADDED> Probably should explain "why Korg" ... entry level trigger kits... they'd clean up.
