FX LOOP on MX2642A

Hi there, im just setting up my Behringer MX2642A.

I need to be able to send all my channels to the relevant subgroups (1-4). I do this by using the correct button, but i also need to set up an FX processor to one aux and a compresor to the other aux.

I thought of :

channel > aux > outboard > stereo in A-D > Subgroup 1-4

would this work? Anyone know about setting up an FX loop pre-subgroup on this mixer. I cant do it all then send to main mix, avoiding the use of sub-group as i'm running a delta 44, needing 4 OUTS.

Thankyou, ollie

Here is the manual download page for that mixer.
www.behringer.com/05_supp...2A&lang=ENG

It will be easier to have you view it as they have complete drawings of the type of set up you are looking to do. If by chance you can manage the download I can try and write something up this weekend for you.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes, the section about effects (aux) returns is helpful in some ways, but it appears that i can either send to the sub-groups using the normal route, or if i want to use FX i would use the auxes sends then put them to a stereo input and from there to the subgroups.

so either:

channel > subgroup 1-4

or:

channel > aux > stereo a-d> sub 1-4

This seems fine, as long as i dont have the subgroup button pressed and the aux level turned up on a channel at the same time, because then i would have two of the same signal.

thankyou. Any advice is much appreciated.

I owned that same desk years ago. You can send your stereo signal out the aux, and then seimply bring them back from the FX to the Stereo returns and the route the stereo returns to the sub outs you want if that is needed. You have multiple routing options on that desk and I believe you should have 3 or 4 stereo returns if I remember correctly.
