Jun 07, 2006 06:10 pm Nice one Jim!! Sounds cool...in fact, I may hunt it down myself being as its one of the few I havent seen myself thus far !!
I got a similar type thing - its a big logbook (kinda big wide book) of all the EMI Sessions which has notes and every single time they stepped into Abbey Road recorded, complete with dockets etc and timesheets...its brilliant!
Thsi sounds cool too...
Indeed, long live the Beatles...always.
Rock on.

Jun 07, 2006 09:31 pm Very nice find indeed Jim. I may have to find that one myself.
Jun 20, 2006 05:13 pm WOW!!
I just finished all 375 pages of the book linked to above. All I can say is WOW!! If you are any kind of a Beatles fan, and you are interested in the recording process, then you MUST read this book. The insights are incredible!
The author was very involved in the making of "Revolver", "Sgt. Pepper" and "Abbey Road". He goes into great depths describing the making of those albums. Very detailed and very technical at some points. I'm not sure if a "non-recording" Beatle fan would appreciate the book as much as I did.
Just when you thought you knew everything there was to know about the Beatles...
***** (five stars)

Jul 18, 2006 02:09 pm I just got through reading this book...Here, There, and Everywhere. Written by Geoff Emerick. AWESOME! He was the recording engineer on Revolver, Pepper, and Abby Road...he walked out on the White Album recording because he couldn't take anymore of the emense tension in the studio between the bandmates. Then returned for Abby Road. He also went on to work at Apple...got hired by Paul to re-build the recording studio at Apple after "Magic Alex" unsuccessfully built his worthless version of a studio and wasted away a ton of Beatles' cash. It talks about the interaction in the studio, who did what. Did you know that Paul did the guitar solo on Taxman (George's song) because George couldn't nail it. Interesting stuff. I give it 5 STARS as well. A must read for any recording enthusiest.
