That looks like it would... If you've already got the mixer try it out. I can't see why it wouldn't work though.

Aren't 'Tape outs', and 'Main outs' the same bus ?

I think you're going to end up with Bass w/Vox 1 on two tracks, and Guitar w/Vox 2 on another two... depending on how you pan 'em .

yeah i would agree with hue and think they are also, use the preamps to go to the line inputs 3 (panned hard left) and 6 (panned hard right...but you still won't have seperate tracks...geez i'm really not seein' any way to get 4 seperate outs on that mixer....lemme stare at it some more.
ok i got it...

bass and guitar are fine...

preamp to the tape in....press the "tapt to control room"

then the control room outs to the delta..

yeah i bet that'll work

I don't know why you'd use the tape in/outs at all.

Just plug the output of each preamp, into the inputs of the 44. Bypass the mixer altogether as you've already got the preamps.

yeah, that was my first thought too, why even bother with the mixer for those two mics...

Actually if it were me, I would run both mics, the bass and the guitar into the 44. Then I would run the Delta 44 outs to the channels 1,2,3,4 of the mixer.

u mean, connect the bass and guitar directlly to the 44 with out using anything b4 it??? ...I tried that with my AP2496 with my bass with a 1/4 to RCA cable already, and the level was low and it cut down on some of the higher fequencies alil, compared to when its hooked up tru the preamp.....i dont know if that will be the same with the 44, i dont have it yet....just planning, if i should expand with more M Audio, or just get an interface like this www.zzounds.com/a--884907/item--PHOHELIX12FW or similar and done with it......if M Audio made an interface like that i would be very happy cause ill be able to record more than 4 tracks in PT too not just my good ole CubaseSX3......thanks guys, i had a feeling using the tape in and out might not be such a good idea....i kinda had my eye on this too www.zzounds.com/a--884907/item--MDOFTRACKPRO << in that way with my ap2496 ill have 4 audio ins in all....anybody tried one of these yet?

Edit: and that (fasttrackpro) already has pre amps, and a headphone out so i wont really need to get a mixer

nah man run your first two channels on the mixer as you drew out, then plug the output from your outboard preamp right into your delta...is just that easy!

Hmmm, I didn't think that the 1/4" inputs on the mixer had pre's. I thought only the XLR's had pre's.

exactly, use the pre's on the mixer's channels's one and two, then the inserts as direct outs to 1 and 2 on the delta...

then use the two outboard pre's directly to the delta.

Looking at their block diagram, the 1/4" and xlr both feed to the gain stage, but the line in has resistors inline with it, to bring it down to mic level.

The gain knob (or trim) runs the 1/4" as well as the xlr. So the preamp is indeed active on the 1/4" line in.

Straight ahead, guitar and bass if you have nothing like a POD or such can go through the mixer. And the mic's indeed through the pre and into the Delta. Just make sure the Pre is 2 seperate channels and not a linked stereo rig or you may have one hot mic and one normal mic. For levels I should add.
