If you wanna know exactly how it works you'd have to ask Paavo, the developer. From a visual standpoint, it shows you the frequency spectrum of your song, and you take the spectrum and drag it around...raising or loweirng parts of it. It's just an EQ, the main difference it you can SEE the changes you are making to that particular piece of music.

I have the software and it has helped me alot in my Mastering, what you do is,( now this is for a Cd )you load a song into Har-Bal you Balance out the Eq in the song and use that as a Reference Eq for the rest of the Tracks on the Cd.If your songs don't have a sence of space to them you can add this to them.If your gonna do Mastering this is a must have software.

I really like Har-Bal, Paavo has done a great job IMO. I believe you're demoing an earlier version... 2.0 has more features. When you purchase, he gives you the option of trying it for 30-days before your final license is issued. You have to be pretty confident in your product to offer that. I won't be requesting a refund and I doubt many people do.

Their are a lot of people here using HarBAl here and they all seem pretty happy with it. I know I am as well.
