Sound Blaster X-Fi lawsuit possible (the rumor mill)

Just FYI for people, I have heard, though I can't confirm (yet) that there is a class action lawsuit gearing up from people that have replaced everything in and around their computers because Creative said the X-Fi issues were the users other components...it took Creative months to acknowledge the problem was, in fact, their device.

Like I said, I can't confirm, but, if you are a user of this card and had this kind of issues, which include slowing down of your system, popping and crackling and such, it'd be worth doing some investigation...and keeping us informed as well.

Just a rumor on the rumor mill to me right now.

Hmmm...I'll ask my friend that works at Creative Labs and see what he knows.

And you think he is going to tell the truth?

Unless he is part of production or the mass labor force, I would guess he might not be to up on telling the story.

But maybe, one never knows.

It's not like it'd be the first lawsuit ever filed against them for riping people off and/or falsely advertising or marketing a product...

Nah, he'd tell me if he had heard anything and he says he's heard nothing of the sort.

But I guess that the company itself wouldn't be too clued in until they get served.

That place is pretty bass-ackwards. He's dying to get out of that place and is just putting in his time while he finishes squeezing in full-time college courses.

Yeah, let's see about the SB blunders in the past that they didn't admit until they were backed into a corner:

- the Audigy "screech of death" sound that was due to a manufacturing or design defect in the cards

- the lie that landed them in court about the 24-bit/192 Khz recording quality of the Audigy cards

- and now the hordes of people on their forums complaining about pops and clicks with their X-Fi cards. If this does turn out to be a problem, I can hope for their own sakes that they admit it and try very hard to fix it

You know, companies make mistakes. But for the love of Pete, be a man and own up to your mistakes! It drives me nuts that they deny, deny, deny until the bitter end.

From what I have heard they did finally admit it was their problem after making 50% of the owners of X-Fi's replace most every other part of their PC cuz it was the video cards fault, the chipset on the MoBo, the case fan, etc...so, after 6 months of constant problem reports they finally figured it out.

I remember back in the 90's the cards would explode...forcefully...
