I just got a pro tools LE system at home. I'm running the Mbox2. With the software, I got the ignition pack, which includes Reason Adapted. In the past I have not delt with much electronic music. Which is why I got this system, I need the practice. With Reason I need to get a midi controller. I'm looking at the Oxygen 8, any suggestions around that price range? Also, will the midi in and outs on the Mbox work in reason, or do I need a USB controller?

The price range is about $100 or so.

The midi in and out on the M-Box will work just fine. As well the Oxygen 8 is a great little controller, but it allready has its own midi in out port using the USB connection. So if your PC has USB 2.0 on it allready you will be set. If you want to save some money though you can look at a midi controller that will just use the midi i/o allready on the M-Box.

I've never used a usb midi controller. In OSX would I need to go into AMS to set that up? Or does it come with some sort of driver?
