About Smikalow

Through my life I have been mostly a singer. I play a little rhythm guitar and some harmonica. I got into recording about three years ago when I got the Lexicon Omega system. Trying to record in the living room was at best painful. About 2 years ago we added to our house and the basement was a perfect place to put a sound chamber. So with a little help from my cousin (who donated 20 panels of sound insulation he got from the flood at the Astoria High School where he taught music Note he also played with Doc Severenson's band) I built a 7.5' by 7.5' studio with 8" thick walls.

I have been involved with audio and electronics most of my life and was able to put it all together. I have never had so much fun with any toy in my life. The only problem is the amount of time I spend in there. Most of my equipment is not very expensive but the end result is 24 bit audio and I think it is fairly good.
