DrumCore 4.1 AAX/VST3/AU Plug-In Now Includes Multiple Output Routing
LOS ALTOS, CA - February 10, 2017 - Sonoma Wire Works has released an update to DrumCore® 4, the critically acclaimed AAX/VST3/AU plug-in with tempo-stretchable audio and MIDI drum loops of inspiring performances by hit-proven drummers, plus multi-velocity samples of their drum kits in many styles. The 4.1 update adds multi-out routing, which enables producers and engineers to perfectly tailor the sound of the drum kits to fit their mix.

DrumCore 4.1 has 7 dedicated stereo auxiliary outputs for bussing sub-mix channels within a session. The full drum mix is still being sent to the main stereo output, while the sub-mixes are routed to the auxiliary outputs. Bus assignments for the 48 pads in each kit can be customized as needed. See the DrumCore 4 User Guide PDF (12.21.2016 or later, section 5.4) for instructions.

DrumCore 4 Editions and Drummers:

Tone2 Audio releases Icarus - 3D wavetable synthesizer

Tone2 Audio releases Icarus - 3D wavetable synthesizer

What is Icarus?

Icarus is a powerful, new synthesizer with '3D wavetable synthesis'. It offers a fresh sound, which quickly catches the audiences' attention. The innovative resynthesis can rebuild nearly any sound with a mouse-click. The easy to use interface and a massive amount of inspiring factory sounds allow a rapid creation of professional tracks.

What is 3D wavetable synthesis?

Icarus is a '3D wavetable synthesizer', because the popular traditional wavetable synthesis, which is capable of cross-blending waveforms, has been extended with an additional dimension for morphing. Wavetables can be manipulated with 54 different morph modes in real-time. As a result Icarus can create sounds with lots of dynamic expression and movement. Many of these sounds can not be created by other synthesizers.

Audio engine:

The audio engine offers a huge sonic range and is very versatile. It is able to reproduce all important synthesizer sounds. Additional to this it can create lots of exclusive sounds which are not possible with other synthesizers. It offers the highest possible sound quality with low CPU requirement.
It can do: All classic synthesis methods, 3D wavetables, morphing, resynthesis, vocoder, 53 effects, 3x10 stereo oscillators, hypersaw, supersaw, unison, additive synthesis, dual stereo filters with 62 filter types...

Vocoder and speech synthesis:

Icarus is able to 'sing'. The included vocal patches are not just simple 'vocal samples' which are played back – it is real speech synthesis. As a result these vocal chants are never out-of-tune. They are correctly time-stretched for the 'right groove' and synchronize to the song's BPM rate automatically. The built-in vocoder module allows the creation of custom phrases with a mouse-click.

Resynthesis:

The innovative resynthesis function in Icarus allows it, to rebuild nearly any sound with a mouse-click. The new algorithm gives better results and is easier to use than traditional methods.

Interface:

Many animated displays give visual feedback instantly and make tweaking accessible to anyone, regardless of the skill level. A customizable interface allows to pick the favorite colors. With several instances of Icarus loaded at the same time, it's possible to show single instances with different color schemes. This helps to keep the orientation within complex projects with many tracks.

Wavetable editor:

The wavetable editor includes a massive amount of advanced tools to tweak and create wavetables, like an additive spectrum editor or the possibility to paint waveforms with the mouse.

Effects:

Icarus comes with a flexible, modular effects section. 53 different effects can be combined to build new and exciting effects. It's possible to store the new creations to the harddisc or to import them.

Modulation

Icarus allows to connect dozens of modulation sources to all important sound parameters. Almost any parameter can be modulated well into audio-rate speed.

Native Instruments introduces REPLIKA XT
Berlin, May 10, 2016 – Native Instruments today introduced REPLIKA XT – a creative multi-mode delay. The five deeply modeled delay modes span crisp digital repeats, analog warmth, and experimental textures. Additionally, seven effects and advanced options allow producer’s to add depth and width to their mixes with refined control. The plug-in is aimed at producer’s who need an easy-to-use, all-in-one studio delay for echoes, special effects, and production tricks. REPLIKA XT is available at the NI Online Shop. Registered owners of the original REPLIKA qualify for special upgrade pricing.

REPLIKA XT was inspired by some of the most revered delays in history. The plug-in features five delay modes, each with its own distinct character. Modern provides clean, precise, controllable repeats. Vintage Digital offers warm, repeats modeled after early samplers and digital delays. Analog replicates the sound of analog bucket-brigade pedals. Tape provides the punchy, smooth sound of classic tape echo units. Finally, Diffusion Mode provides swirling reverberant echoes unlike any physical space.

REPLIKA XT features a clear interface that makes even complex effects fast and easy to create. Pattern controls allow producers to create rhythmic repeats that shift organically with the music. Panning for each delay line as well as the dry signal allows a custom stereo image. The ducking feature keeps percussive hits tight while still adding space to a drum mix. Together, the controls on REPLIKA XT’s intuitive panel provide uncompromising control with a minimum of effect.

REPLIKA XT is available now at the NI Online Shop for $99 / 99 € / £89 / ¥ 12,800 / AU$ 149.

Registered owners of REPLIKA qualify for special upgrade pricing on REPLIKA XT. The upgrade from REPLIKA to REPLIKA XT is available at the NI Online Shop for $49 / 49 € / £44 / ¥ 6,280 / AU$ 79.

Native Instruments releases REAKTOR 6
September 9, 2015, Berlin – Native Instruments today released REAKTOR 6 – the latest version of the acclaimed modular DSP environment at the core of the Native Instruments brand since its release as GENERATOR in 1996. Featuring best-in-class DSP and sound quality, REAKTOR 6 delivers major innovations for instrument builders as well as being the most approachable version of the software for anyone interested in deep sound experimentation. REAKTOR 6 also introduces a major development in Blocks, a set of diverse modules allowing users to create custom synths in the same way a modular synthesizer is patched. REAKTOR 6 now comes at a new, reduced price, making it the most cost effective entry into custom device building to date. REAKTOR 6 is available through the NI Online Shop for $199 / 199 € / ¥ 22,800 / £169 / $AU 279. Special update and educational pricing is also available.

"REAKTOR has represented the cutting edge of electronic sound for nearly two decades, so bringing such an iconic and mature software to the next level is an especially thrilling challenge", says Mate Galic, CTO and President of Native Instruments. "Now our development team cannot wait to see how the REAKTOR community will utilize the new features of version 6 for a new generation of ingenious and novel instrument designs".

Blocks is a new framework in REAKTOR 6, providing the speed and flexibility of modular synth patching combined with the benefits of working in the digital domain. REAKTOR 6 comes bundled with 30 Blocks in several categories, each with a specific purpose. Bento Box Blocks represent the core components of a modular synth setup. Boutique Blocks take inspiration from custom hardware that bring advanced sound shaping to the world of modular synthesis. Digilog Blocks create complex rhythms, process notes, and provide structure in patches. NI All-Star Blocks are single rack-style components of Native Instruments synths such as ROUNDS and MONARK. The world of Blocks will continue to grow as the vibrant REAKTOR community builds and shares new Blocks and Blocks patches – all available for free online at NI’s REAKTOR User Library.

REAKTOR 6 features new enhancements for the advanced builders creating their own synthesizers, effects, and audio devices. Three key additions extend REAKTOR’s workflow efficiency and sampling power at the Core level. Bundled wires are like multicore cables, making intra-level patching cleaner and more elegant. Scoped buses allow ‘wireless’ connectivity across multiple structure levels. The Table Framework feature allows flexible and efficient data sharing throughout REAKTOR, including from Primary to Core levels.

Online education provider Kadenze has developed a comprehensive new university-level course for the REAKTOR community. The course offers freely available content, giving users of all levels a way to expand their skillset when working in REAKTOR. Students will receive an in-depth look into various audio synthesis methods, including additive, subtractive, sampling, wavetable, physical modeling, and granular synthesis, as well as the various types of modulation synthesis. Users can get full accreditation for their studies at additional cost. The first course content will be available in time for the release of REAKTOR 6, with more to follow.

REAKTOR 6 is available now through the NI Online Shop for $199 / 199 € / ¥ 22,800 / £169 / $AU 279.

Owners of previous versions of REAKTOR and students enrolled in educational institutions can upgrade to REAKTOR 6 for $99 / 99 € / ¥ 11,800 / £89 / $AU 149.

Eight modulation effects offer incredible sonic versatility for augmenting tone – from classic modulation effects like flanger and chorus to yet-unheard effects such as a purposefully broken pitch shifter to create unusual new textures. Six dynamic and distortion effects include a 16-stage wave folder and a DSP that tracks a signal's pitch to control a variable waveform oscillator. MOLEKULAR also comes with essential 'bread and butter' effects for additional sonic adjustments and finetuning.

MOLEKULAR features 16 modulation sources, which can be routed to any parameter within the effects system. Modulators include four customizable LFOs and four step sequencers for emphasizing any part of the meter with rhythms from simple eighth notes to odd metric subdivisions. What's more, MOLEKULAR includes analog modular-inspired trigger sequencers – each with a dedicated envelope and an envelope follower to set accents or add bursts of effects to any production. A logic module adds an irregular, organic feel to the structure of sound sources with any degree of precision or chaos. Frequency-based parameters can be quantized to custom scales and it's even possible to route one modulator into another producing unusual, constantly evolving modulation structures.

By using the Morphing Field, it is possible to drastically twist the results via the interactive display. Producers can assign a starting point, define four master mutations and easily morph between them in real time – a new and near-limitless approach to performing with effects. The morpher can also be controlled by any of the modulation sources. Though highly advanced technology works under the hood, MOLEKULAR is straightforward to use, and also comes with a multitude of presets of highly inventive effects ready to use as creative starting points.

MOLEKULAR is available now at the NI Online Shop for $149 / 149 € / £129 / ¥ 14,800 and runs in REAKTOR 5 and in the free REAKTOR 5
PLAYER.

Native Instruments Introduces SUPERCHARGER GT
Berlin, February 25, 2014 – Native Instruments today released SUPERCHARGER GT – a compressor inspired by the rich, tube-driven sound of a boutique hardware unit. A feature-rich follow-up to the SUPERCHARGER compressor released in December 2013, SUPERCHARGER GT goes beyond modern tube compression by adding dedicated Saturation and Character modes and additional controls for complete sonic fine-tuning. SUPERCHARGER GT is available at the NI Online Shop for $99 / 99 € / £89 / ¥ 9,800. Owners of the original SUPERCHARGER can upgrade for a special price of $49 / 49 € / £42 / ¥ 4,800 – a $50 / 50 € / £43 / ¥ 5,000 saving off the regular price.

SUPERCHARGER GT was designed for simple yet comprehensive sound shaping. Producers can quickly dial in a wide range of compression effects using a single 'Compress' knob. The effect's automatic make-up gain allows them to stay focused on the sound of the effect without having to compensate for the drop in volume compression can sometimes cause. Pre-set Attack and Release settings provide a starting point for setting SUPERCHARGER GT's response to incoming signals – producers can start with Punch, Gentle, and Slam modes. Dedicated Attack and Release controls allow an additional degree of fine-tuning.

Aside from compression, SUPERCHARGER GT also delivers a set of tone-shaping controls that make it more than just a compressor effect. A 'Saturation' knob with Mild, Crisp, and Slam saturation types give users three ways to add harmonic content to their tracks. At lower settings, SUPERCHARGER GT offers subtle harmonic enhancement. At more extreme settings it delivers raw, distorted coloration. The 'Character' knob can fill in missing low end and smooth out unruly high frequencies with Fat, Warm, and Aggressive character modes adding to its versatility. Furthermore, a mid/side mode lets producers create space in a mix by applying the effect only to the left and right sides of a signal – perfect for adjusting stereo imaging. A detector high pass prevents unruly low end signals from mis-triggering the compressor. Combined, these features provide producers dynamic control, warmth, and sonic shaping in one convenient plug-in.

SUPERCHARGER GT is available as a software download at the NI Online Shop for $99 / 99 € / £89 / ¥ 9,800.

Owners of SUPERCHARGER can upgrade for a special price of $49 / 49 € / £42 / ¥ 4,800 – a $50 / 50 € / £43 / ¥ 5,000 saving from the regular price.
