Well it is finally here the thingy of my dreams. My new lease of life. The apple of my eye. (oopss better not let the wife read this else she'll be jealous)

Yes the wait for my very first real sound card has come to an end. I have now in my possession a large cardboard box, with another cardboard box inside, with another cardboard box inside with an ESP 1010 WaMi Rack inside.

So you ae all probably wondering has he set it up yet ? Wellllllllll No i haven't. this is for 2 reasons

1. I can't stop looking at it and getting that warm fuzzy feeling inside, it's so much better than xmas.

2. i FORGOT TO BUY THE POWER SUPPLY AS IT DOESN'T COME WITH ONE.......

- I cant believe how stupid i feel I don't need the power supply unless I need Phantom power - lesson to be learned here kids READ THE *****NG MANUAL FIRST

So I just had to share with you all he tremendous joy I have had from recieving this cardboard box

so I have a question for you all

Do you react in the same manner as me or am i just slightly childish (I don't really care)

Oh, I am childish as hell in those situations, I'll mope around, slam doors, stomp my feet...feel free to do so, it feels kinda good, or at the very least, let's people around know your pissed off.

Bummer dude, but hey, it'll all work out in the end, usually does. Glad you got most of the way there! Congrats on that!

Hey there Kaos, I just received mine too (ESP1010), a few days ago. It took me over three days to install mine, but that was due to other constraints, but I do like to oogle new hardware before I install it.

It is up an running now, though. I've not recorded with it yet, but it has been playing back from FL Studio with great and lovely sound =).

true dat, i had a 1010lt before, so i'm kinda used to the multi-world. though having the converters out of the PC should give me quite a lovely noise floor.

Just wanted to say thanks to the reviewers here on the board that helped out with this decision. You know who you are =).

I'll say though, that Win XP64 doesn't like the drivers for some reason. Kept saying it couldn't find the drivers for the device. I loaded w2k on and it's now working. I probably won't stay with w2k, but am waiting to pick up WinXP. So far, I'm not happy with XP64. It looks slick, but several things wouldn't work right on it.

Kaos and pjk, just remember you dont need the PSU if you arent going to be using the phantom power. Mine gets fed off my desk so I dont need it. I as well as dB really like the pretty PCI card though. They just look wonderfull. My ESI 1010 runs absolutely flawlessly, dont forget to install the most current drivers though, you should infact get them and do the install with them instead of the CD. But either way is OK.

My ESI WaveTerminal 192 is real cool as the PCI card came with a daughter card that has another set of digital i/o as well as optical i/o and midi i/o. But the daughter card has neet little lites on it. Yes like a little kid, I know. :-)
