Feb 01, 2006 08:59 pm It could use a little more in the high mid range. The brass is a little sparse sounding. The kick will need to be compressed more to give it a boulder sound as well as the snare. You are getting a pretty good snare sound but a little more work and it will sound great.

Feb 03, 2006 05:02 am Hey! I think they sound great allready! Here is what i would do:
Kick: needs more bottom. So boost somewhere between 60 and 80 Hz! Then get rid of the boxy sound and cut between 150 and 300 Hz. I like the attack, so if needed boost at 3 or 4 kHz. Compress it at ratio 3 ar 4:1 and adjust the trashold!
Snare: sound great to me! Boost some more at 2,5 ar 3 kHz!
Toms are ql. Use some gate to get rid of the boom, or cut somewhere between 200 and 400 Hz!
Hi-hat needs some more presence. Boost at 4k and between 12k and 16k!
Then, you'd need to add some room to it. Use some FX (reverb, gated reverb etc)
That's my opinion, since i like drums being put to the front of the mix (in to your face)!!
But the most importaint thing is, taht your drums fit in to the mix.
