Hey guys- I'm a 49 year old vocalist, ready to admit that my vocal control isn't what it use to be. Anyone have any experience with pitch correction, more specifically, the Antares Vocal Producer w/pitch correction? Can this type of unit smoothly handle minor flat and sharp note repair? Input most appreciated. Thanks! mwaynew

I use the software version and i find it very good and "real" sounding, if u sing pretty close and the correction works seemlessly. Every now and then i sing way off, and then its quite noticeable, but overall id say the effect is 98% on the money.

I also have the plug-in and it's an excellent tool, especially when using the graphical mode (although that is also time consuming). The only major complaint that I have (and it's a big one) is that the plug-in is VERY glitchy. It can drive you crazy. Sometimes it just decides not to work, or other times it will push a note up an octave or warble all over the place for seemingly no reason. Most of the time it works great, but when it doesn't it's a huge pain.

Yep, Antares is probably the best piece of hardware out there for pitch correction. It should be as they have been doing it the longest.

I have been using the V-vocal processor that is native in Sonar 5 PE. It is based on Rolands Vari-Phrase technology and it works very slick. It is exptremely smooth without any harsh side effects. It will do formant, pitch correction and many other tricks as well. I do believe Rolands V9000 was the basis for the software. That is a full blown sample/processor that has the V-vocal process built into it. I think it is a bit more expensive then the Antares unit thoug I am not sure.

Thanks for the input. The Antares Vocal Producer is on it's way from Musicians Friend.(Love that platinum card.)
