Well, we're wrapping up construction in the new facility and I have some photos for you guys.... finally.
Here's A Control Room (before and after) with a floating Maple Floor.
Here's A Proper with all it's wall within wall construction and 4 layers of drywall on the walls and 2 on ceiling... my band just broke it in last night so that's why the gear is there.

Jan 12, 2006 06:05 pm Nice. So how does the placement of the Corona cases affect the acoustics? They look very carefully positioned :D

Jan 12, 2006 09:39 pm Even looks as though hes got a little fridge in there to keep the Corona cold. The guy in the one pic didnt hide very well, I can see his head and legs.
I like the purple wall in one of the pix. The other guys were smiling so I suppose that means it must have sounded good.
Jan 12, 2006 11:41 pm Looking great, el musico!

Jan 13, 2006 10:22 am Thanks guys, it sure has taken a while to get things done. We've done virtually everything ourselves. Next is treating the place and installing the gear. I've learned a lot more about construction than I've ever wanted. I've learned how to stain/epoxy floors, install wood floors, framing, drywall, electrical, and the like... and I can't wait to forget everything about it.
By the way, Corona is key to a good sounding room. Don't like your tone? Have a Corona!
Jan 13, 2006 10:25 am yeah, I hear ya, I am going to be finishing my basement before too long hopefully, last time I did it I said the same thing as you "glad thats done" but now we moved and I have to do it again...my little studio space is gonna rock tho, that area is a blank canvas right now...
Fortunately my martial arts instructor is a carpenter and he has said many times when I need a favor to ask due to all the favors I have done for him over the last year, so, well, they will all come up when THAT project starts...
God bless the barter system, I don't know where I would be without it.

Jan 13, 2006 11:18 am Yes, the barter system is great... we've traded many hours for labor.
Jan 13, 2006 12:02 pm That's freakin sweet el musico. Gotta love the corona!

Jan 13, 2006 07:22 pm Yep, the barter system is alive and well. That is kinda how dB and I met, trading PC and audio gear back and forth as well as all kinds of goodies.
But ya I still like the purple walls.

Jan 20, 2006 02:39 pm hey noize glad you like it, the ceiling crew made some wise cracks about the colors, saying that the wife did a good job painting the place.

Jan 20, 2006 08:13 pm Ya, I wish I could get away with that here. But my Auralex is purple so I guess that is half the battle.
