Well i got kinda distracted from the epic Rock by some interesting stuff that was stting on my hardrive for months...
This band, Teen Wolf, recorded 17 songs in a row "live" with 10 mics onto 10 tracks one day at the shed, and I decided to have a go mixing some of it because I really liked the songs - the songs are far too cool not to share! lol, and its fairly different to most of the stuff I've been doing. There is lots of spill. Anyone got any tips for cleaning up live recordings?

Hey that sounds pretty good to me. I like the intro, very different. Did you run anything direct (keyboard, or bass). Also were vocals overdubbed or were they also done live?

Edit: The vocals both sound really nice by the way.

I can't get them to open (probably my problem) but I like to do live recodings (especially on bands that never recorded before)

I generally just start with drum overheads and then add whats needed... and then retrack the vocals.

You might have to start with vocals.

I also do drum replacement with midi softsynths (basically triggers) and that will clean up alot.

Hey Michelle, had a quick listen. Very interesting stuff. Sounds differant, Synth punk or something like that? They sound like they were having fun, thats for sure.

I'm gonna have to listen better tommorrow as I dont have time to be critical tonight. But I think it sounds kinda cool in its raw state. Maybe just beefing up a little here and there. That distorted guitar on Cosby is pretty intense, reminds me of an old Fuzztone pedal I had.
