wall mounting 1/4'' cable jacks

ok....for our new studio build we are going to wall mount some 1/4" jacks (maybe 3 on the same plate)...

heres what i want to know, these obviously have to be stereo 1/4" jacks as there main purpose is going to be running headphones through the control room wall and into the live room...but what i also intended to do was run the speaker cable from my guitar heads in my control room and out the other side into my 4-12 cabinets in the live room...is this doable using the following supplies?

www.churchaudiosupply.com/CASwallplates.html (under the category 1/4" or RCA jacks on WALL PLATES ill be going with 2 of SP2HJ3P's for both sides of the all...)

and

www.churchaudiosupply.com/CASbulkinstall.html (under the category CL3 Rated Installation Lo-Z Mic Cable - ill be going with the Mic2SF to connect the two wall plates through the wall...

is this doable? do i need anything else? my dad can install it...he did all the electrical in our house and it passed inspection...so he's good...haha, but he's never done anytying like this...

any links/help would be greatly appreciated...

makes sense to me, there PA, I'm doing the same thing, and found the same type products you pointed out. I'm also putting the mic inputs in the walls, and running the mic cables back to the control room through the wall / ceiling.

I'm using dayton 22ga for my mic runs (parts express). It's got an outside Diam of .25, which seems larger than most others I've found.

I'm using cat5 for my headphone runs. It's free, for one thing, and there's noise rejection for another. And I got lots of the stuff, in short end-roll pieces, so, there you go =).

I'd be interested in what you've gotten done so far, and wouldn't mind exchanging ideas, if you'd like. PM me if your interested.

I got a blog running that's got some pictures so far. It's in my profile.

no, not necessarily, but you will need to fasten the face plate to something. There are low voltage hangers you can buy from home depot and the like.

It depends on what you're making your walls out of. If you're having just drywall on the walls, then you can use the blue electrical boxes, and the faceplate will fasten to that. But if you're using low voltage wiring (phone, network, audio, etc) then you don't have to use the break-out box (i think it's called). You can use a low voltage hanger, which attaches to the hole cut out of the drywall (square shape), then the faceplate fastens to that.

If you're having denser material as wall material (wood) then you can just cut out the hole, and screw the faceplate right to the wall.

Low voltage hangers don't have a back on them either, so you can just run your cable between the two (if they're on both sides of one wall).

Take a look here:

www.homedepot.com then put in 302634 for the search item. I tried to post the link to it directly, but it didn't work.

Those would work nicely, and only $1.49 each.
