Can you take tones you've made on the pod 2.0 and transfer them to the pod xt pro? If so, how?

I dont believe the tone settings from your POD 2.0 can be used in the PODxt PRO. I would suggest that if you dont ahve too many you maybe mark out the settings and try to duplicate them in the POD xt Pro to give you a place to start.

from the line 6 web site

Can I transfer my POD 2.0 patches to PODXT?

You sure can, using Line 6 Edit, the free tone editor/librarian software from Line 6. Things of course will sound different, because of the dramatic sound differences between POD 2.0 and PODXT, but many of the aspects of the sound will translate, including basic effects settings. You can then tweak from there to get sounds on your PODXT that your POD 2.0 only dreamed of. You can get the details on Line 6 Edit, as well as the vast Custom Tone library that it works with, here.

Line 6 has a good FAQ section.

I am not sure they will transfer to the POD xt Pro though. If you look in the cross chart it does not show that the patches are usable between the 2.

If you go to the tone exchange and look at compatable tones that it will load it lists the Flextone III, HD147, POD xt and POD xt Live. It does not show the POD 2.0 as being compatable with it.

There was a software called tonetransfer that was used in 2003. I would assume the Line 6 Edit can do the same thing if it is possible. simply load the tone into the Line 6 edit software and let it do its thing.

given that all the models were rebuilt for the xt series, I would say it's a pretty good chance they will sound different.

Ya, I dug some more today and it looks as if it should convert em. Just no where on the site do they show that it is compatable to swap the tones. But the dang FAQ sure does say so right there, so I would give it a try.
