Looking at buying a Behringer PMH660 or PMH880. Are either of these good powered mixers. Are there any big reasons to choose one or the other. Our budget is limited and it seemed that Behringer had some good powered mixers for the money, just wanted to see what everyone else thought.

A lot of people here, myself included, love the Behringer stuff. I'm not familiar with the powered mixers in question, but their stuff always gets rave reviews here on HRC.
Do they have a separate power adapter, or if is all built in? That's one place that Behringer have had a weak spot on the non-powered mixers (the separate power adapter).

Their pre-amps are quite transparent sounding to my ears (not too much colouration of the sound), and I've never had any problems with my Behringer stuff.
Try an A/B comparison if you can.

On the whole Behringer are good value.

The seperate power adapter is what helps keep them quiet. If you say the size of my PSU for the 3282 desk you would understand.

But agree with TallChap on the Behringer stufff be pretty fair. I have a lot of Behringer gear, some getting on in age. And I have not yet had a lick of trouble with any of it.

Our band has been gigging with a 24 channel Behringer unpowered mixer for 4 years, only probs we've had is when some dingbat plugs in the wrong patch leads!

My old 24 channel Behringer desk actually had a Coke spilled in it down the busses and the last 2 channel strips, while it was powered up. Dried it out and had no problems, not even a little scratch when pushing the faders.
