Alot of the people I work with in music are working via Pro Tools...So I began pondering a switch to make the software communication easier...

I often ask inane questions like the following:

with the Pro Tools software....are the file types the same. For instance...if something was recorded and mixed thru a Digi002 with a stright up plain version of Pro Tools on a MAC...Could I make changes to the mixes and creat the mixdowns if I was running say a Delta 44 with a version of Pro Tools M-Powered on a PC???

The basis of this question is that I master thru Adobe Audition, HarBal and Ozone (PC)...but the person mixing needs help and hes running a Digi 002 rack on a Mac...Just pondering on putting the Pro Tools option on my machine for fixing certain issues...

Thanks!

you should be fine as long as you check the "enforce Mac/PC compatibility" box when you create new sessions and use Wav files for your audio (SDII is an antiquated format not used by PC).

The transition is almost seamless. The only thing you'll have to change are the input and output settings from 1 format to the next. All your settings, tweaks, eq and fades should remain in place and in tact.

El Musico is absolutely right, make sure you check that box or you'll be up shyts creek w/o a paddle!
