I am pretty sure even the LE version should have come with at least a few presets available for the user. Otherwise, is there another window that may have settings in it. I know there are several users here running LE, I run Sonar 5 PE by the way so I really am not familier with the light version of Cubase as all. You may also want to check their website to see if there is any available downloads for any of it there.
A good place to start here is some of these article's linked below. There are several describing EQ, what it does, how it does it and so on. Have a browse through some of those and it will get ya a good start.
