Connection a mixer/Delta1010/Monitors... how?

Hi all,

I don't know what i did wrong, but i can't get the right setup. I'm a beginner with this.

I have the following gear:
-Mixer; Soundcraft Spirit portfolio SX
-Monitors; Philips 544 MFB (22rh544) loudspeakers (I can connect them with two large jacks (L&R).
-Soundcard pc; M-Audio Delta1010

I want to bring all the channels output from the mixer to the delta1010 (don't care about the direct outs). I think it is also handy connecting the monitors to the mixer so i could control the volume better.

I am a little messed up right now.. On the line inputs on the mixer i will connect keyboard and mic.
I tried several setups but there is also something weird like no stereo or the sound from the keyboard is sent directly from the mixer to the monitors and at the same time the sounds travels thru the delta1010 back to the mixer.
I can't get the proper sound from the keyboard (or there would be something wrong with my monitors all of a sudden).

[EDIT!!]
I found my (hopefully only) problem. There is something wrong with my monitors (Philips mfb 544 speakers). The stereo image is messed up. They need to be repaired in order to work correctly. That's why i all music and sounds sounded weird.

Tnx again for you're help...

OK, I assume yo mean the folio sx, not the portfolio sx.

What I will suggest is this www.homerecordingconnecti...tory&id=132

Your mixer only has 2 main outs (R/L) and two subouts. I have the same type of mixer and this is what I do.

I run the main outputs as a stereo pair from the main out, to my amp which run to my speakers. The two sub outputs I run to two inputs of my sound card.

You said to forget the direct outs, I see that as a big mistake. Channels 1-8 on your board have direct outs...personally, I would use those and run to inputs 1-8 of your Delta 1010...and then just forget about the subouts...or, run 6 direct outs to six inputs, and use the other to Delta inputs for the sub outs to increase your routing options without needing to plug/unplug stuff from the card...

Oke tnx dB Masters...
I did find that link already in another topic.
I will try to connect that setup again. I did try that setup before, but i couldn't get any sound.

I do agree with you about the direct outs, but i don't have all my cables with me on my temperarily location and i need many cables for the keyboards (stereo), but thanks for the additional info.

ah, yes, the amount of cables one needs can get pretty excessive.

Remember, not only do you need to cable it like that, but you also need to understand all the buttons and controls to route signals to the subout, main outs, and so on...which can get to be kind of a mind-screw sometimes...
