Here is a new little simple piano song: a cover of Death Cab for Cutie's "I Will Follow You Into the Dark".

Do the simple vocals hurt the song? I could put a bit more emotion and take some volume off them. I find it hard to judge my own singing as well so what do you think of the vocals? Thanks for your help and time.

I would suggest just a smidgen of reverb on the vocal to give it a little better placement in the mix. I do mean just tiny bit of reverb, not enough to sound echo like but just to breathe a little depth into the vocal.

I am a fan of Death Cab for Cutie and like that tune. You did a nice job covering it.

i like the "rawness" of it. i would jazz up the piano once you start singing- by adding another piano track. and as the song progresses add tidbits. violins first then add full strings
the last bit just you and the piano
build your song, then crash it down to just you and the piano as it started

also dont hold that high note so long, fade it down and mix with the strings
thats how i hear it
well done though
